HARRISONBURG, VA (Jan 29, 2007) - Wilson Trucking Corporation honored Ryland B. Hogan for winning his category of the National Truck Driving Championship by having a special edition Volvo VN built for his exclusive use. The truck was presented to Hogan at an appreciation luncheon honoring Hogan that was sponsored by Truck Enterprises, Inc.

Mr. Hogan won the five-axle sleeper tractor competition at the NTDC, an annual competition held by the American Trucking Associations which was held this
past August in New Orleans, Louisiana. To qualify to be a participant in the National Truck Driving Championships, a driver cannot have been involved in any type vehicle accident, regardless of fault. The driver must also win their class competition at the state level before advancing the NTDC. Once at the NTDC, drivers compete in written examinations, oral interviews, vehicle pre-trip inspections and driving skills courses.

Hogan has driven the big rigs on all types of highways and in all weather conditions for more than thirty years and he has been an active participant in truck driving championships since 1972. He has placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in forty-six different competitive events. Hogan was the 3-axle NTDC champion in 1987 and won in the twin trailer class in 1993. In 2004 he was honored by the American Trucking Association with the presentation of the ATA Professional Excellence Award. The following year, 2005, Hogan won the 5-axle tractor championship.

The Volvo VN awarded to Mr. Hogan features chromed components and bright work not found on other Wilson trucks, along with wide-base single tires, polished aluminum wheels, a special decal proclaiming Mr. Hogan's achievement at the NTDC and his name on the door. In addition to the truck, Wilson Trucking Corporation gave Hogan a $10,000 bonus, a week long Caribbean cruise and a championship ring.
